Review: Coffee Hugs

I loved getting to know Sarah, the founder of Coffee Hugs. She is such a sweet mom! While emailing about the giveaway, we found out that we have a lot in common--Sarah lives in Northern Indiana (the twin and I used to live in Fort Wayne and went to college not much further from there), she taught middle school math (I always wanted to be a 7th grade math teacher--love algebra!) and now she is a SAHM!

Sarah told me a bit more about how she got started with Coffee Hugs:

My mom taught me to sew when I was 7 or 8, and I've done my fair share of creative sewing since then: clothes, wall hangings, dolls, etc., and I made my first big quilt last year for my husbands birthday. I began sewing (and selling) bags and purses about two years ago, and it was shortly after that that I began making coffee sleeves. These are my favorite things to make, and I enjoy putting fabrics and buttons together to make them fun.

1. Her favorite fabrics to work with are: any fabrics that catch my eye with interesting designs or a great use of color. At the same time, though, I love the simplicity of linen. I like being able to either keep the linen very crisp and clean or change it up a bit with some contrasting stitching.

2. Her favorite things to do outside of Coffee Hugs are:keeping busy with my kids. We spend a lot of time going on "adventures" to a favorite shop in a nearby Amish town or to visit a grandparent. If I do have a rare hour to myself, chances are good that I'm curled up on the couch with a cup of coffee and a good book.

3. The one word that best describe her is: the one word that best describes me is stretching. Imagine a new plant just coming out of the ground in the spring. It is stretching toward the sun to soak up light and nutrients. I feel like that new plant. I'm stretching and growing every day. It's not always easy, and I'm not sure exactly what I'll look like fully grown, but I know that God is giving me the nutrients-- the lessons and the grace-- that I need on a daily basis to become what He has planned for me.

Please check out her store and considering purchasing one of these great coffee hugs (or tea hugs or hot chocolate hugs for all you non-coffee people :)
