Palm Sunday--Holy Week

Many of my real-life as well as bloggy friends have reminded me of the incredible importance of this week in our Christian faith. I am so thankful that they shared their thoughts on this week. Please visit these two blogs to read more about what this next week means to them:

Today is Palm Sunday. This day marks the triumphant entry of Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. Just like we will do next week, we celebrate Christ's entrance joyfully! However, much happens between today and next week--if you haven't already or don't already know about it, make sure you check out the previous links for more information on what happened.

The Bible states that when Jesus entered Jerusalem, crowds greeted him while waving palm branches and covered his path with palm branches, too. I kind of picture it like the cheerleaders making a "tunnel" for the football players to run through:

People are super excited, waving and cheering for the "main man" to pass through and lead them to Victory. Maybe its a stretch. I could keep going with the allegory but i'll stop there!

Immediately following this great time of celebration in the ministry of Jesus, he begins his journey to the cross.

The biblical account of Palm Sunday can be found in Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; and John 12:12-19.
