Baby C tried beets for the first time today. To prepare them, I steamed them with carrots (can never have too much Beta Carotene!), added some ginger, and pureed until smooth. It turned into a bright red that could have been used on CSI as fake blood. Seriously. It was so blood-like in appearance that J thought I was bleeding when he walked into the kitchen!
Anyway, I mixed them in with her (plain, European-style, Organic) yogurt, added flax seed, and served it up to the babe. Delish! She devoured it!
