W.o.G. Wednesday: Galatians 1:10

It is the final hour before Wednesday and here I am...late but...here...

and

I'd like to thank all of y'all for leaving such sweet "get well" comments. THANK YOU!

I used to live life with this motto...

Not too much wrong with that, right?

Ehhh, if you are a follower of Christ there kind of is something wrong...

Galatians 1:10

10Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

I am still learning this lesson: Living life to please OTHERS will never truly satisfy. We'll constantly be on the lookout for approval from others and, when we don't get it, ooo heaven forbid what we'll do to get it back.

In the end, keeping my eyes on the cross, remembering Jesus' sacrifice for me and the great GIFTS (Joy! Peace! Love! Security! LIFE!) He bestows should be enough to keep my path simple and straight with no need to worry what legacy I'm leaving.

As long as I am striving to please HIM and Him alone, I should have no cares about how people remember me when I'm gone! Instead, I'll be rejoicing in His Presence!!!

PS Small disclaimer: I MOST definitely gain happiness by making others happy BUT that is not nor should not be my goal in life. Pleasing my Saviour first should be my goal and, hopefully, exuding joy and sharing happiness with others will follow. It is certainly not my intent to disgrace a grave!

Amen to that! You always bring up fantatsic points. Ones that make me think. I also love to please people and make them happy. It makes me happy yo please people. I am growing in my relationship with God every day (probably for the rest of my time) and it is all a learning process.

You're so right. Serving others is definitely apart of loving God. But there is a fine line between doing what God wants us to do and people pleasing to fulfill something within ourselves. Thanks for the reminder to act always with God in mind FIRST!
