I ♥ Faces: Before & After

Phew, y'all, what a week we've had. More to come on that later but for now, I know most of you are visiting for I ♥ Faces, not stories :)

This week's theme is "Before & After". You are supposed to post a picture of what your old pictures and editing looked like in the early months of your I ♥ Faces participation and then show a recent photo of your new and improved techniques.

Since I just have my point and shoot Sony digital camera and do not have PhotoShop (or any other "cool" and "official" editing software), I have not had the chance to take advantage of I ♥ Faces' great tutorials.

I do, however, think that my editing skills on Picnik have improved and maybe even my shooting skills have, as well. I'll let you be the judge!

Before

The following picture is the first picture I entered that I edited on Picnik:

After

and this picture was taken late this month and edited on Picnik:

What do you think?

I'd love your suggestions on how to improve your pictures with a simple digital camera and a fancy-free editing system!

Make sure you check out other "Before & After" picture entries at I Heart Faces!

Wow, I'm impressed. I never knew you captured your images with a point and shoot. Your previous submissions to I Heart Faces have always been so beautiful.

I've also enjoyed all your pictures. I use picnik too (love it) and my only suggestion is something I learned from other sites - less is more when it comes to all the actions, editing features. I find it hard to stop when picnik makes it so easy. :)

You are amazing :) . I love how you have improved and grown! And I actually think that anyone that learns on a point and shoot is ahead in the learning curve : ). If you can make point and shoot pictures look great, you can only get better when you go to DLSR : ). So, you are a super star and it is fun to see your growth! You are always one of my favorite, favorite, favorites : )

Have no fear! I started on a point and shoot as well! It was over a year after really getting into photography before I had my DSLR! I learned a lot even on my P&S!

I loved the second photo! I would say, watch your colors. Don't let there be more of ONE color than the others. If it looks more yellow, add blue, etc. I LOVE the composition of it! It makes the eye travel over the photo which is perfect! Great job!
