This week, Angie and Amy are on summer vacation so that means I ❤ Faces is, too! This week's theme is "Our VacationStories through Pictures".
We have only been a family of three for 10 months (as of today! Baby C is 10 months old!). J's company hosts a retreat every 18 months and one happened to fall 5 weeks after C was born. When we signed up for the retreat, we were thinking, "sure, easy, peasy, we can do that with a baby". Needless to say, we weren't parents at the time and had no idea what traveling with a wee one would be like. But, sign up we did, and then we were committed!
Because it was our first family "vacation" (J still had some work to attend to), it is my favorite. His company took us to the beautiful Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. This resort is on the National Register of Historic Places (part of it dates back to 1778!) and, until recently, served as the "fall-out bunker" for political residents (read: Presidential cabinet, congressman, etc.) should there ever be an attack on the Capitol.
As a 5-week old, C experienced a lot of "firsts" while on this vacation: first plane ride, first dip in the pool, first time sharing a bedroom with mommy and daddy, first time in a hotel, first bus ride, first "All-White-Dress" party, first hike in the mountains...oh the list is endless!
Since this post is for I ❤ Faces, though, it is time to commence with the pictures...here are a few of my favorites, in mosaic form to get more bang for my buck :0

I'm with Rebeckah on this one. Never mind the vacation pictures...look at the skinny momma! I'm so jealous! :) Your daughter is adorable. It sounds like you had a wonderful family bonding time.
I can see why this is one of your most favorite vacations. Your daughter is beautiful and all those "firsts" are such a precious thing. I'm so glad you were able to capture them all...an so well too:)
Love the collages and it looks like a wonderful trip!

What a brave woman you are! So glad you were able to enjoy a vacation together so early. I love all the firsts!
What a cute family you have! :-) Seriously - I love all the firsts - what a cutie! :-) and you totally look great - I sure did not look like that after just having Jayci! :-)
Love the teddy bear pics and the daddy daughter matching outfits. Too cute!
How cute! You are so brave to go on a trip with a 5 week old!
Do you have a 2 pc. on? Yeah for you! I gained 50 pounds with my 6 pound daughter and it took me years to lose the weight. I still can't get away with a 2 pc. LOL!
Great pics!
Man, you're braaave! Looks like it went well, though. I did something similar with Baby J. He was two weeks old when my whole extended family went up the mountain, rented a house for a family reunion--25 people, 7 days, 2 week old. That's some pretty twisted math.
i love the daddy daughter matching outfits too! beautiful shots and what fun memories!
She is just too adorable! Mine is here.
So, you were back in a bikini after 5 weeks! Congratulations :) It took me like 2 years! Anyway, very very cute pictures. It looks like you guys had a wonderful bunch of firsts.
First are so fun, that is great that you have it all documented!
Awwww, how sweet are those photos! I've never seen a bathing suit so small! LOL! What beautiful pictures to celebrate her first vacation!
Love your pictures. Your baby girl is so sweet!
Oh my gosh--how adorable is that little one! The 'heading home' shot with the yellow/pink blanket is adorable.
You have a beautiful family! And did I see you in a bikini right after the baby? You GO girl!
Oh how sweet, what great memories! :0)
Ahhh! Your baby girl is so adorable! Wonderful pictures from her first trip.
Wishing you a scent-sational day!
