i heart faces: {Week 19}

This week I don't even know why I am entering. I Heart Faces is hosting a hard-core real-deal photography theme for Week 19 and my measly point-and-shoot and i don't have much to show for it. (Well, Picnik definitely helped me, too!) But, i love participating and can't help myself so here I am! It goes without saying that I am most definitely entering the Amateur category!
you may need to click on it to see all of it...?

Little C is teething so her fingers would not leave her mouth for yesterday's photo shoot. Oh well!

{As her totally non-biased mommy, i still think she is cute!}

I'm bummed that I had to add a black border around the picture but the edges got washed out due to my blog's white background. Since i'm giving up the Internet for a whole day (gasp!), i don't have time to monkey (get it? monkey? ah, at least I'm laughing) with it...oh well. The life as an amateur :-o

{Click here to see what it looks like, sans black border.}

As always, head on over to I Heart Faces to see more of the very best faces photographers have ever taken!

{PS You can see the making of the photo shoot, here}
{PPS You, too, can have this flower headband!}

Super fine print: I am submitting this photo into the www.iheartfaces.com Blurb book photo contest. If chosen, I grant I Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I Faces web sites.

Oh I love it! This is a great photo!
Don't forget that you made the top ten that one week and you said you didn't think you'd win then either!
I really do think this is a great picture! I'm still not sure which one i'm going to enter this week.

A P&S? For real?? WOW!! Love the catchlights in her eyes! That is really hard to get with a P&S camera sometimes. Great shot!

Stop! This a great picture, really beautiful.

I only have a corny point and shoot as well lol, and oftentimes don't feel worthy of participating in such contents, but I love photography, and I put my heart into the pics I take, and that makes feel a professional hobbyist at least =)

I only have a point and shoot also and feel exactly like you. But every week I enter anyways- it's to much fun! (Plus it takes the pressure off for winning) That being said, this is gorgeous, and you have a definite shot at winning! Pun intended.

Lauren W said...

oh my! What a beautiful picture :) Such a sweet little girl.

Jessi said...

Um, it must be true what they say about the photographer making the shot and not the camera because yours is beautiful. To be honest, I couldn't decide whether or not to enter this week and was randomly clicking on entries and when I ended up at your blog I thought something like, "with photos like this, what is the point?" Then I decided that I could enter for fun and excitement, don't have to be in it to win it ;)

As her totally unbiased non-mommy - I think she's supercute too!!! One of my all time favorite photos of my little Beauty (and one I entered for no flash week) is of her teething when she wouldn't take her hands out of her mouth. Teething shots can still be cute, as you've proven here today!
